YSFE Week 4

It's been a crazy little week over here...my first week back and somehow I got a lot, and at the same time, nothing accomplished!!

However...I've been pretty successful on the workout front this week...I think..maybe...

Thank you to Ubisoft for providing me with a copy of Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2012 and sponsoring this fitness diary series. Please click here to learn more about Ubisoft. I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective. All opinions are my own.

Humana Health Insurance sponsors a section of the game (my words not theirs!)

Each activity is 13 minutes..only shy by 17 minutes for the recommended amount of physical activity the average Joe is supposed to be doing daily.

I started off with the Children's Activity..

I was super excited about the description "Superhero moves for cardio crime-fighting. Punch, kick, move and have fun!"  Unforunately it didn't live up to the hype... it was a cardio class!

I envisioned a reality Grand Theft, now that would have gotten kids up and moving. You know, running through streets, beating up bad guys, running from the cops... all that fun stuff!  Not sure how exciting a cardio class would be for them?! just some food for thought...

Strengthen your Heart... well, the actual workout was very similar to Healthy Kids.

The green bars represent the level of intensity you are supposed to be working at (beats per minute). Now I am assuming they based it off my input information, and this would then be individualized, but I'm not really sure. I think it's great they added the BPM but if you dont have a heart rate monitor a) you can't track what your heart is at and b) i think utilizing the range might have been better.

Lastly, I did Aging Gracefully...by far my favorite in regards to actual programming.

This session was really geared towards the elderly crowd with lots of low impact exercises.  I thought it was the best thought out exercise out of the 3. My only question would be how many elderly people have a Xbox?

I really think this part of the game could be pretty awesome especially since it's sponsored by Humana and they have such an extensive resource of information. It just needs to be worked on a bit better..

Don't forget to comment at the end of the 5 weeks, I'll be giving a YSFE game to a lucky reader!!

Have a great weekend!
