YSFE for the Kinect - week 3

Thank you to Ubisoft for providing me with a copy of Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2012 and sponsoring this fitness diary series. Please click here to learn more about Ubisoft. I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective. All opinions are my own.

I have to admit that despite bringing the X-Box with me on vacation, I wasn't able to stay indoors to workout. Between the awesome weather and having a pool, I either went running or swam laps! I figured I could pick-up the YSFE once I was back in snowy Michigan.

NOT Michigan
Anywhoo... I'm back and ready and rearing to get my body back into shape so getting into YSFE was no problem. I decided to try another new warm-up, Stomp It or something like that, but I didn't do too well at it...

Doesn't this remind you of Simon?!

Brick punching is still my favorite!

Anyways, this week I tried two different workouts..

The first one was Hip Hop..gosh how I love me some dancing...

The nice thing is they break it down for you. There are two practice sessions called Learn It, then you can Rehearse It and finally you can Speed It Up however I'm a white girl and unfortunately, this one can't dance.

Not sure if I'll be doing this again, however I will be doing the kick-boxing again. That one is sweeeeeet!

The same format as above which means you can go at your own pace. Learn the moves and then kick a$$ doing them!

Did anyone receive a X-Box for Christmas?

Don't forget to comment as I'll be giving one of these games away in 2 weeks!!!

  1. I think I would like the Hip Hop class. How is the music? Is it ok for kids? I think brick breakers might be my favorite since my job can sometimes be frustrating as a SAHM :)

I would love to win! cabreban at hotmail dot com

  2. If this game is an improvement over last years version i sure would like to win and use it. Does the game track your movements this time for the most part?

  3. Both of those look like fun. I've never tried doing a video game style work out, but I would totally try it.

Thanks for your comment too, the juicer from my last post is a Breville and it's been great.

  4. @Centsable Lady... good question! I can't remember which makes me think that it wasn't all that great! the brick breakers is so much fun!!!

@primitve1.. i mentioned my First Week that I was a bit disappointed about the Kinect capturing me. My legs are pretty much chopped at my knees and my head is a bit fuzzy. In that respect, it definitely needs some improvement but other than that I much very happy with it. Especially since I was thoroughly upset with the Just Dance Summer Party for the Wii.

    @Jaclyn.. thanks!

  5. The X Box looks like so much fun. I bought my son (and husband) a wii, but I have never used it. I love kickboxing though so I think I may look out for a wii version.

Thanks so much for your running tips. I love how you said that the Higdon program was too much running for you because I honestly didn't know how I was going to get it all done in 12 weeks without passing out. I am thinking I will definitely take longer than the 12 weeks cause I don't want to move onto a new distance unless I feel comfortable and really ready.

Looking forward to checking out the YSFE 2012 - I'm intrigued :)
