Treat Yo Self! Healthy Habit #4

Happy Monday Tuesday y'all!!!

How was your weekend? Mine was tumultuous but thankfully I'm feeling 100% myself today which is something I couldn't say for most of the weekend!

Today marks the 4th week already...can you believe it?! holy cow..where has January gone!?

Tracking calories is really my arch-nemesis..I know it's necessary but hotdamn...it's tedious and I swear my calories drain faster than my bank account!

Every day, but Sunday I logged into myfitnesspal, and I was only able to "complete" 1 full day. I always get hung up on
  1. Homemade meals. I find it tedious to have to go on-line to create the recipe.
  2. Going out to eat. I'm such a stickler about am I posting the correct serving size, but there are 3 different options, yada, yada yada..
But it's all good...progress not perfection!!!

Oh, and I feel completely dumb  for saying this but.. I had no clue that once you "complete" your day, other people can see what you ate (if your settings are set up that way)!?

Anywhoo..it's a new week, and another day for me to succeed.

In fighting the good fight, I think it's only necessary that you treat yourself to a little something, and when I say little, I mean little, mainly because my budget can't handle much more than free $5. So these are a few little things I like to treat myself too after a rough week.

1. Manicure - Pedicure

So, I hate getting my nails did because well, they chip so damn fast and now I have to rethink my pedicures too so for Christmas I asked for some supplies.

I love looking at my nicely manicured hands, it just makes me feel so much more confident. It's the little things...

2. ULTA

These are semi-new to Michigan, and are basically a beauty store/salon. A mix of high-end and low-end products and they send out monthly coupons. $3.50 off $10 and I can still get my fix off of new product without spending a fortune or feeling bad about it.

3. Birchbox

I've been a subscriber for 3 months now and I love it. For reals, every month you receive a box with 4-5 samples of beauty products for $10. This month, I received a full Stila eye-liner, a $20 value, so clearly my box paid for itself.

If you're interested, here is more info

4. Gift Cards

Who doesn't receive them?! I currently have a whole slew of Starbucks ones and once a week, I grab myself  a cup of  Joe. Cost: Free!

How do you treat yourself?

  1. It sounds like you're making great progress! Also, I'm not sure if I should thank you or not for introducing me to Birchbox... :)
