Healthy Habit #3: Track My Calories

Happy Monday, Martin Luther King Jr Day!!

I not only have today off but so does the bf...whoot whoot...long weekend!

Healthy Habit #1: still streaking... going 15 days strong!

Healthy Habit #2: I actually ended doing 2, one tangible and one intangible. Today I'll discuss the tangible habit, vitamins!

I managed 6 out of 7 days.. I started taking them at night and since we were out, I never got around to it. However... it did allow me to get on a morning schedule which I prefer (read: easier to remember!)

I'm no Dietician or Doctor so take what I say with a grain of salt.

I won't be going in-depth discussing water-soluble vitamins, fat-soluble vitamins, toxicity etc. unless that is something you guys would like to hear more about. I'm just trying to keep it easy and general.

my daily dose

Vitamins: organic compounds that are essential in small amounts to promote and regulate body processes necessary for growth, reproduction, and the maintenance of healthy.

The FDA does not regulate vitamins and supplements, so please do some research as to how much you should be taking, whether there might be any complications if mixing with prescription drugs, etc.
  • The best way in acquiring vitamins is through eating whole foods, a little from every color family.
  • However, for a varied of reasons, it is good to add a multi-vitamin to your daily routine. The number one reason being that fresh food can lose some of it's vitamins due to light, air, heat etc.
  • Another option is going with frozen foods, they are picked and packaged at their ripest, meaning they have some of the least nutrient losses.
my Hell Kitty pill box... I'm obsessed..yes, I am!

I don't think I take anything out of the ordinary besides the CLA..fish oil (1 shot with breakfast), B-12 (I really think it's been helping with my energy and productivity), Calcium with Vitamin D (they have a co-dependent relationship) and zyflamend for my joints.

CLA..conjugated linoleic acid, is supposed to help with fat loss while building lean body mass. We'll see how this works..this is my first round with it and I'll decide whether or not to continue on with them once my stash runs out.

What vitamins do you supplement your diet with?

so now comes Healthy Habit #3...Track my Calories. It's all happening a bit sooner than anticipated but I had a major meltdown yesterday while getting ready for my MIL's retirement party...nothing fit!

The holiday weight has really done a number on me, and even though I've lost 3 of the 7 pounds.. I still NEED to get 4 off ASAP!

I'm on myfitnesspal, so I beg of you: stalk me, hound me, etc... I already skipped out on tracking yesterday.
