Things have been straight up crazy over here, but I'm officially done with school and now comes the hard stuff.. deciding what to do! (i know, i know, i said i had made up my mind but then i unmade, and I keep on flipping back and forth!)
Through all of that, I've let myself go..like majorly... I'm not even talking about the scale, it's my muscle definition and strength. The weight gain is only the icing on the cake. Although..after having avoided the scale for 2 weeks, it wasn't that bad, but it's better now to nip it in the butt then wait another few weeks!
My family, when asked to help out in the kitchen, prefers to either grab take out or just go out to eat, I'm slowly beginning to reign it in. Mainly because I'm just getting sick and tired of eating out. Have you read the End of Overeating? Eating at traditional chains straight up grosses me out...I'll be re-reading it over break and talking about it some in the New Year.
So, I've been gymless for a year now, relying on my home-based gym, exercise on demand and Kinect (check out my Zumba review!) to keep me in the buff, so when CGC offered to send me a Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2012, I couldn't turn it down.

Heck, these games ain't cheap and because I want to share the love, I'll be giving one away too at the end of my 5 weeks! Each week you'll have the opportunity to add your name to the bucket, so comment away!
So, I started playing around with the game and found several tracking devices which seem neat.
Shows you what day your own, how many calories you've burnt, which I do wonder how they gage that as it didn't require that I put any info in about my height, weight or age.
Push-ups, crunches and broken bricks?! Bring it on...
If you look in the upper right hand corner, you'll see I burned 12 cals hula-hooping!
Other warm-ups, since it's hidden by the hand icon, which sorta blows.. anyone watch White Noise? It totally reminds me of that! Are Juggle It, Pump It, Kick It, and Hurricane. I hula hooped and was pleasantly surprised that I worked up a minor sweat without feeling like my heart was going from 0 - 60! I think overall there is a lack of warming-up in fitness, but I digress..
Check back next week as I review some of the other options on this game.. and don't forget to comment, a lucky winner will receive this game!!!
Do you own a Kinect?
Love it?
What's your favorite game?

Don't have a Kinect yet, but I'm hoping Santa brings one this year. Actually looked at this game & thought it would be one of the first ones I got (right after Madden and Star Wars).
ReplyDeleteNames Jackie and my yahoo is Flairsystech@yahoo.com. I don't know why but my phone only let's me go as anonymous. Anyways hi I was reading your blog and the game looks like a lot of fun while exercising, so I dig it. It's a little out of my price range but I will be checking on your progress, good luck :D
ReplyDeleteI have a Kinect! Yes, I love it! Santa brought it to my kids. I like the Sports 2 game. I would LOVE to have the Your Shape game!
