Animal Kingdom

For those of you following me on Twitter know that Tuesday was a rough day up in herrrrrr.

Majority ruled that we head to Animal Kingdom which was the least important park on our To-Do but I let it slide since we had planned on getting the discounted hopper ticket.

When I found out that a) the discounted tickets were no longer available to me and b) the price for the 3 of us cost what the 2 day unlimited hopper would cost, I was livid. Seriously, the first half of the morning I gave everyone the silent treatment. Disney is no cheap affair and spending $300+ on a park I wasnt even interested in, chapped my ass seriously.

Anywhoo...upon entering the park you are greeted by this awesome sight

We hustled over to Africa

and took the safari ride, where we saw some of these animals

I thought this was hilarious yo

After Afric, we moved on to Asia

We saw these rickshaws just shortly after we had discussed how great it would be if someone would drive us through the park instead of us having to do all the walking!
We seemed to spend most of our time there between rides (a water ride where I got soaked through! and a roller coaster ride) and waiting for the parade to come through at 3:55.

After the parade, we high-tailed it back to the opposite side of the park to see the Lion King show and it was awesome. I saw the Lion King on Broadway and it was just as good at 1/8 of the time!

After the Lion King show, we headed back towards the Tree of Life where we went and saw A Bug's Life show where we got to wear these snazzy glasses...

Not only was the show cute but you got to walk through the Tree of Life, getting a better close up of the tree's carvings.

Despite the rough beginnings, the day ended well and although I wasn't thrilled of how things worked out. In hindsight, it was better because we didn't really have another day we could have gone to Disney!

Tell me...what's your favorite Disney Park?

  1. So.... I was scared to read this post. Animal Kingdom is my park. My home away from home. In Anandapur (Asia) I feel happy, calm, where I belong. I spent 2 years working in Asia attractions as a trainer, then moved to the Labor Office and air conditioning. So I always hold it dear to me.

With that said - I did NOT want to work there because I thought it seemed like a lame park. But then I learned I was wrong!

OH - Kali - your wet ride, that's where I spent most of my time! I went on it this trip, too, and got 100% soaked. My clothes never did get fully dry by the time I packed them to come home. And Festival of the Lion King - gives me chills every time!!
