McDonald's

so, I haven't been counting POINTS this week. That doesn't mean that I haven't been aware of what I'm eating, it just means, I'm not counting. I blame it on TOM. I'm just feeling sorta under the weather.

I'm still working out though. That's one thing I've still been pretty adamant about. Last Thursday in preparation for the yard sale, I had to cancel a run and I was PISSED OFF. It was just that I had planned on taking my day off to be Friday and Saturday. Come Friday, I started feeling antsy. I felt off. Saturday my pants felt tight and come Sunday I said EFF IT and by Monday I was more than excited to be running again!

It's weird. The numbers on the scale aren't fazing me. I've been more concerned that my 4 day off stint was going to hurt my ability to run. I'm about 2 lbs away from the lowest that I weighed in this month and although I'm not geeked about it. I'm not really thinking twice about it either.

Anyways, I've been having McDonald's a lot lately. Previously, like a couple of years ago before McDonald's had to get rid of the XL fry and Coke. I would typically get the Fish Filet meal (hhhmmm, that is seriously one of the best sandwiches...I know, it's probably fake fish but there is just something so addicting to it) XL of course and an additional Double Cheeseburger. And, I wonder why got fat!? Anyways, so since WW, I've been getting a Mighty Kids Meal 6 Pc McNugget. That comes with a small fry. So that meal costs me approx 12 points. A lot really when you only have 22 POINTS however that's not what surprises me. I'm amazed that if I eat slow enough, I actually get full off a Happy Meal. It keeps me full till I'm ready for my scheduled snack.

Has anyone else had a change like that?

Although I'm not geeked about my trip to Germany (I'll explain this later), maybe it'll be a good thing because I notice my eating is slipping. For fear that we'll put my Opa (yeah right) in the poor house, we eat typically only twice a day. Pin It Print Friendly and PDF

  1. i don't know, i've always gotten the happy meal. with a meatless cheeseburger (one, the bastards charge you the same price and two, it tastes exactly the same as a cheeseburger. you can't tell at all there's no meat.
but eating slowly is definitely more filling. your brain doesn't have time to know your full because you just keep eating and when the message gets there you've already eaten more than you needed.
i always feel like i'm in a hurry and it's ridiculous, what do i have to do? i've been practicing putting my fork down between bites but it's hard. harder than it should be.

  4. The fact that I have fast food maybe once every few months is what amazes me, and even then it is a roast beef sandwich from Arby's or a Chicken sandwich. Yeah, I too used to get the fries and the big ass coke and now I just get a sandwich and a small diet soda.

But that McFish, processed or not, is actually my favorite McD's item too!

  6. YES!!!!

I'm not the only one that loves McFish!!!! I never seen anyone else order it besides my family of course.

The Double Fish, nasty. They just dont add enough cheese or tartar sauce.

Amy: Do they still add the pickle, ketchup mustard and onions? Interesting...

  7. Dito on the "cheeseburger without the meat" order.

A friend of mine (who hated ordering for me) once told me that I would know when I met "the one" because he wouldn't be too embarassed to order for me. What can I say, I'm just not into eating dead animal flesh... :)

  8. they do everything exactly the same only they leave out the burger. i swear you can't taste the difference. all the flavor i sin the condiments anyway, it's not like anyone walks away from mcdonalds saying they enjoyed the rich beef taste.
